Your Questions, Answered

  • What actually is strength and conditioning? Is it just for athletes?

It's a structured way of building strength, power, and the capacity to keep going. Programmed so it progresses over time instead of repeating the same circuit forever. It started in sport, but the principles work for anyone who wants to move well and get stronger. You don't need to be an athlete. Most of our members are regular adults with jobs, kids, and a few niggles.

How is this different from a regular gym or a group fitness class?

A regular gym gives you access to a gym floor, some equipment, and a vague idea of what to do. A group fitness class gives you a workout that's the same for everyone and goes nowhere in particular. We do neither. You get a periodised program that builds week on week, qualified S+C coaches who actually coach you through it, and a group small enough that you're coached, not just counted.

  • I haven't trained in years. Am I fit enough to start?

You don't need to be fit to start, that's the point of starting. The program meets you where you are and builds from there. Plenty of our members walked in after a long break, unsure they could still get after it. Two weeks in, the movements start making sense.

Don't try to be good on day one, show up and let it happen.

I'm in my 40s or 50s. Am I too old for this?

No. Arguably it's exactly who this is for. Strength, power, and movement quality are the things that keep you capable as you age, hiking, keeping up with the kids, staying out of the physio's office. We program for the long game, not for wrecking you in a single session.

Will I be the most unfit person in the room? Is it full of 20-year-olds?

It isn't. Most of our members are training around busy lives and bodies that have been around a while. Everyone in the room was new at some point, and nobody's watching you, they're getting on with their own session. A small group is a lot less intimidating than walking into a big box gym alone.

I've got a dodgy knee / shoulder / back. Can I still train?

Usually, yes but it's worth telling us about before you start. Coaching movement properly is most of what we do, so working around a niggle is normal, not a special case. We'd rather adjust something than have you push through it and make it worse.

Have a chat with a coach first and we'll sort it.

Do I need to be at a certain fitness level before I start?

No. There's no minimum you need to hit first. The program scales to you. The hardest part is starting. once you're in, the coaching handles the rest.

  • How many sessions a week do I need to do?

Most members train three times a week — enough to make real progress without it taking over your life. Some do more on an unlimited membership. Consistency matters more than volume: three sessions you actually turn up to beats five you plan and skip.

    How does booking work?

You book your sessions through PushPress, our booking system. Lock them in ahead of time so you're not making the decision in real time each week. Takes a couple of minutes to set up, and we'll walk you through it.

    What's the Teambuildr app?

It's where your program lives. You can see what's coming each session and log your weights, reps, and scores. It also means your coaches can see how you're tracking and point you in the right direction when needed. Included in every membership — not a separate product.

What do I need to bring or wear?

Comfortable training clothes, a pair of shoes you can move in, and a water bottle. That's it. No special kit needed to get going.

    Where are you based?

We're in the hobart CBD opposite Myers (Basement level, 105 liverpool street)

  • How much does it cost?

    • 3 sessions per week — $66/week

    • Unlimited sessions — $81/week

Both are billed weekly with no lock-in, and both include full access to the Teambuildr app.

If you want to try before committing, the two-week trial is $49.

Why does it cost more than a regular gym?

Because you're not paying for access, you're paying for coaching and a program. A cheap membership gets you a room full of equipment and no plan. Here you get qualified S+C coaches, a periodised program that actually progresses, small groups, and the data to coach you precisely. If you've paid for a gym and gone nowhere with it, you already know what access alone is worth.

    Is there a lock-in contract?

There’s a minimum term of 12 weeks. then it’s just a rolling weekly contract, this is to allow us to manage onboarding new people. Everything is billed weekly. We want you to stay because it's working, not because you're stuck.

  • How does the $49 trial work?

Two weeks of full access to our small group sessions for $49. You get the Teambuildr app, onboarding support in your first session, and a chat with a coach beforehand if you want one. No obligation to continue after the two weeks. It's not a test, it's a chance to learn the movements, meet the coaches, and work out whether this is somewhere you want to be.

    How do I start?

Shoot us a message and grab the two-week trial for $49, and we'll be in touch to get you set up.

We’ll set you up the booking app access, and a quick conversation about your goals and anything you're working around. Then just show up to your first session. We'll handle the rest.
